# YouTube Clipper

**Node type:** `utility:youtube_clipper`
**Category:** `Video Import`

## Description

Download and trim YouTube videos to clips. YouTube challenges unauthenticated requests, so wire fresh cookies for reliable fetches. Cookies are saved with the workflow and travel with a shared link or a published Blueprint, so use a throwaway account.

## Canvas ports

These appear as port handles on the left side of the node.

| ID | Label | Details |
| --------- | ---------------------- | ------------------- |
| `url` | **YouTube URL** | `TEXT` _(required)_ |
| `cookies` | **Cookies (optional)** | `TEXT` |

## Sidebar config

These render as form fields in the right-side config panel when the node is selected.

_No sidebar config fields._

## Outputs

| ID | Label | Type |
| ------- | --------- | ------- |
| `video` | **Video** | `VIDEO` |

## Cookies are a live session, and they travel

Whatever you wire into **Cookies** is stored with the workflow like any other
node value. It goes out with a shared link, and publishing the workflow as a
Blueprint freezes it into a public snapshot anyone can fork: a Blueprint strips
results and pins, not node config. Export cookies from a throwaway YouTube
account, never the one you care about, and sign that account out when you are
finished so the session stops working.

## Wiring cookies changes how a headless run sees this node

A node with an incoming edge is no longer treated as an input of the workflow,
so once **Cookies** is wired, a `url` in a run payload is accepted and then
ignored rather than applied. For an automation, either bake the url into the
node, or leave cookies unwired and let the service fall back to its own
session.
