What does an AI photo enhancer actually do?

What is the maximum upscale factor available?
The Crystal Upscaler node supports up to 4x resolution increase. A 1000x1000 photo becomes 4000x4000 with AI-generated detail filling in the additional pixels.
Does AI enhancement change my photo's colors?
No. Enhancement preserves original color values while improving sharpness and detail. Color correction is a separate processing step you can add to your workflow if needed.
Can I enhance AI-generated images?
Yes. Running AI-generated output through the enhancer sharpens soft areas and improves fine textures that text-to-image models sometimes leave imprecise.
What file formats are supported for upload?
The upload node accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP formats. Enhanced output is delivered as a high-quality PNG file that preserves all recovered detail.
Is there a file size limit for photos?
The upload node handles images up to 20MB. For larger files, resize them slightly before uploading. The AI will still add detail beyond the original resolution.
How long does enhancement take per photo?
Most photos process in 10 to 30 seconds depending on the original resolution and the upscale factor selected. Larger images take slightly longer due to the increased pixel count.
