We spent 15+ hours benchmarking AI models for social media agent while building Wireflow, documenting which settings and configurations produce the best outputs. The workflow below reflects what we learned.

Built on 300+ internal test generations during development
15+ AI models benchmarked for optimal output quality
50+ configurations tested to find the best defaults

How the AI Social Media Agent Works

An AI social media agent automates the repetitive cycle of writing captions, generating visuals, and formatting posts for each platform. Wireflow implements this as a transparent node workflow: an LLM node writes copy and image prompts, feeding directly into image or video generation nodes, with output sized per platform (9:16 Reels, 1:1 feed, 16:9 landscape). Every step is visible and editable on the canvas, not locked inside a black box.

Trigger the agent via REST API or no-auth webhooks, poll execution status, and receive structured output with per-run credit breakdowns. The workflow runs on demand or on schedule, and each run returns deterministic, auditable results you can review before posting.

Agent Capabilities

LLM-Driven Caption Writing

An LLM node generates platform-specific captions, hashtags, and image prompts from a single brief or topic input

Integrated Visual Generation

Image and video generation nodes produce on-brand visuals directly from the agent's prompt output

Per-Platform Formatting

Configure output dimensions per channel: 9:16 for Reels and TikTok, 1:1 for feed posts, 16:9 for YouTube

API and Webhook Triggers

Fire the agent via POST to a webhook URL with no authentication required, or call the REST API with Bearer tokens

Transparent Credit Costs

Each execution returns a breakdown of credits consumed per node, with 402 responses showing exact requiredCredits before running

Editable Pipeline Steps

Every node in the agent workflow is visible on the canvas, so you can swap models, adjust prompts, or add steps

More Than Just AI Social Media Agent

Visual Pipeline, Not a Black Box

Every agent step is a node on the canvas you can inspect, edit, or rewire. Swap the LLM model or adjust generation settings without rebuilding from scratch. See how it works with AI social media video workflows.

FAQs

What is an AI social media agent?
An AI social media agent is an automated system that generates captions, images, and video content for social platforms based on input briefs or schedules, handling the repetitive creation tasks that normally require manual work.
How does a visual workflow agent differ from dashboard tools?
Dashboard tools hide their logic behind a single button. A visual workflow agent shows every processing step as an editable node, letting you swap models, adjust prompts, and add custom logic without starting over.
Can I trigger the agent via API or webhook?
Yes. POST to a webhook URL with no authentication, or call the REST API with a Bearer token. Both return an execution ID you can poll until the run completes and outputs are ready to retrieve.
What social media formats does the agent support?
The agent supports configurable output dimensions including 9:16 for Reels and TikTok, 1:1 for feed posts, and 16:9 for YouTube thumbnails or landscape content. Format nodes handle resizing automatically.
How much does each agent run cost?
Cost depends on the models used in your workflow. Each execution returns a credit breakdown per node. If your balance is insufficient, the API returns a 402 with the exact credits required before running.
Can the agent produce both images and video?
Yes. Connect image generation nodes for static posts and video generation nodes for Reels or TikToks in the same workflow. The LLM node writes appropriate prompts for each output type.
Is there an official SDK for the agent API?
There is no official SDK. The API is plain REST, callable with curl, fetch, or any HTTP client. Authentication uses Bearer tokens with sk- prefixed keys, and responses are standard JSON.
What are the rate limits for API-triggered runs?
Free accounts get 10 requests per minute and 50 executions per day. Pro accounts get 60 requests per minute and 1,000 executions per day. All tiers are capped at 10 concurrent executions per minute.
